Services Manager | NSW | Major Infrastructure Projects | Electrical & Rail Infrastructure A leading infrastructure contractor is looking for an experienced Services Manager to join their NSW project team.
This is a senior role responsible for managing the Services scope across the full project lifecycle, with a particular focus on Electrical Services. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical engineering/construction background and, preferably, significant experience delivering services packages within rail infrastructure.
You will take ownership of the Services scope from tender and design through to procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and final documentation.
The Role As Services Manager, you will provide technical and engineering leadership across the Services scope, working closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, engineering team, subcontractors, consultants and client.
Key responsibilities include: - Manage the Services scope through design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning.
- Provide specialist technical expertise across Electrical Services.
- Lead constructability reviews of electrical services designs and identify opportunities for improved construction efficiency, safety and cost.
- Manage electrical interfaces between the client, project team and other contractors.
- Lead the testing and commissioning scope for Electrical Services, including performance testing and systems integration.
- Develop and manage construction methodologies, staging and temporary works requirements.
- Coordinate Services subcontractors and suppliers, monitoring programme, performance, quality and workmanship.
- Review subcontractor programmes and integrate Services activities into the overall project programme.
- Manage the Services budget, including forecasting, variations, cost control and risk/opportunity management.
- Support tendering activities, including reviewing Services scopes, subcontractor offers, methodologies, risks and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ and relevant rail safety requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.
- Contribute to project assurance, systems and commissioning documentation.
About You: You will be an experienced Services Manager, Electrical Services Manager, Building Services Manager or senior Electrical Engineer with a strong background in major construction or infrastructure projects.
Desired Experience: - Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Minimum 10 years' experience within a construction or engineering environment.
- Strong electrical services construction experience.
- Proven experience managing complex Services packages from design through to commissioning.
- Strong understanding of construction management, project scheduling, risk and commercial management.
- Strong HSEQ knowledge and a commitment to safe project delivery.
- Excellent stakeholder, subcontractor and team management skills.
- Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Rail Experience – Highly Preferred Experience delivering Electrical Systems within rail infrastructure would be highly advantageous.
Candidates with experience across areas such as rail stations, rail systems, infrastructure upgrades, electrical integration, testing and commissioning, or other major transport projects are strongly encouraged to apply.
An understanding of Electrical Safety within the rail environment, rail safety legislation and systems/safety assurance processes will be highly regarded.
