Service & Maintenance Electrician – Data Centres

The Role
We are seeking an experienced
Service & Maintenance Electrician to support the ongoing operation of a mission-critical data centre facility. This role focuses on planned and reactive electrical maintenance within a live, high-availability environment where attention to detail and adherence to procedures are essential.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining critical power systems to ensure uptime, safety, and compliance across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on critical electrical systems
- Attend and resolve reactive maintenance and fault-finding tasks
- Work on LV power distribution, switchboards, UPS systems, generators, and associated infrastructure
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, single line diagrams, and technical documentation
- Perform testing, inspections, and compliance checks in line with AS/NZS standards
- Complete accurate maintenance records, permits, and reports
- Work within strict change management, permit-to-work, and safety procedures
- Liaise with site engineers, facilities teams, and external contractors
- Support shutdowns, isolations, and after-hours works as required
About You
- A current Australian Electrical Licence
- Proven experience in service and maintenance within data centres, hospitals, critical infrastructure, or large commercial sites
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Comfortable working in live environments with zero-downtime expectations
- Good understanding of WHS requirements and safe systems of work
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider facilities team
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Desirable (but not essential)
- Previous data centre experience
- HV switching experience or authorisation
- Experience working with UPS systems and backup generation
- LVR/CPR and relevant site safety tickets
