About the Role

Our client, a well-established top tier delivery contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their delivery team on a rail infrastructure project in Sydney.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven engineer with a strong rail background to take the next step in their career with a business known for delivering complex, high-profile projects.

You'll play a key role in the day-to-day technical delivery of the project, working closely with the Project Manager and site team to ensure works are delivered safely, on program, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support and oversight across all phases of construction
• Manage subcontractor packages, from scope development through to delivery
• Review and coordinate design documentation, ensuring constructability and compliance
• Support planning, programming, and progress reporting
• Liaise with client representatives, designers, and other stakeholders on technical and program matters
• Champion a strong safety culture across the project team
• Mentor and support junior engineers and graduates on site

About You

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
• Strong prior experience within the rail sector is essential
• Proven experience in a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer role with a reputable head contractor
• Sound understanding of rail systems, possessions, and safeworking environments
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach to solving on-site challenges
• Current rail safety accreditations (or willingness to obtain) highly regarded
