Safety Advisor | Major Utilities Projects Unify Recruitment are partnering with a well known Civil Contractor, who due to recent project awards, are in the market for an experienced Safety Advisor to join the team.
Are you passionate about building a strong safety culture and supporting major infrastructure delivery? Our client - a major tier 2 contractor, are offering a very exciting opportunity across interesting and sizeable projects.
The Role:
As a Safety Advisor, you will be an integral part of the project team, providing support and guidance to ensure safe systems of work are embedded across site operations. This role offers exposure to large-scale utilities works including water, sewer, and major infrastructure delivery.
Key Responsibilities: - Support the implementation of HSEQ policies, systems, and procedures across project sites.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with WHS legislation and client requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and review of SWMS, risk assessments, and safety documentation.
- Provide coaching and support to site teams, subcontractors, and workers on safe work practices.
- Contribute to incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action management.
- Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training to build a strong culture of safety.
- Maintain accurate safety records and reporting for project management and clients.
About You: - Previous experience in a Safety Advisor role within civil construction or utilities.
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation, codes of practice and industry standards.
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage teams and subcontractors.
- Passion for driving a proactive safety culture on complex projects.
