Communications and Stakeholder Advisor | Major Infrastructure Project Unify Recruitment are currently working with a major contractor seeking a Community & Communications Advisor to support the delivery of a major infrastructure project based 30 minutes South of Brisbane CBD.
This role acts as a key point of contact between project teams, local communities, regulatory authorities and the media, ensuring projects are communicated clearly, professionally and with sensitivity to community needs.
Reporting to the Communications Manager, you will support project teams by managing community relations activities, preparing communication materials, coordinating engagement events and responding to enquiries and complaints. The role requires strong written communication skills, confidence representing projects externally and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities - Act as a primary community, media and stakeholder liaison for the project.
- Support the delivery of community engagement obligations and project communication strategies
- Prepare and edit media releases, newsletters, brochures, notifications, speeches and digital content
- Coordinate community information sessions, forums, meetings and events
- Investigate community enquiries and complaints, including phone, email and written correspondence
- Undertake doorknocking, letterbox drops and phone engagement as required
- Maintain correspondence registers, reporting and project communication records
- Develop project infographics and visual content using Adobe software
- Monitor community sentiment and provide advice to project teams on communication approaches
- Ensure all communications comply with project procedures, confidentiality requirements and branding guidelines
- Provide on-call support (shared responsibility) for community incidents or issues
You will bring: - A qualification in Communications, Media, Marketing or a related discipline
- Experience in construction, engineering or infrastructure environments (highly regarded)
- Demonstrated experience across media relations, publications, events, social and digital communications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Confidence engaging with the public, including public speaking when required
- A positive, adaptable and solutions-focused mindset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
- A current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card)
