Senior Communications & Stakeholder Advisor | Sydney based

Our client is a highly respected contractor delivering some of Sydney's most significant transport, Infrastructure and energy projects. Due to recent project award, they are seeking an experienced Communications & Stakeholder Advisor to support the successful delivery of multiple projects across Sydney.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and high-performing team, working closely with project delivery teams, government clients and local communities to ensure proactive stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.

The Role Reporting to the Regional Communications & Stakeholder Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing stakeholder engagement and communications strategies across a portfolio of infrastructure projects. Working closely with project managers, engineers and client representatives, you'll play a key role in maintaining positive relationships with communities, businesses, government agencies and key stakeholders while supporting successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement project-specific communications and stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, councils, utilities, community groups, residents and businesses.
  • Prepare stakeholder correspondence, community notifications, presentations, reports and project updates.
  • Coordinate community consultation activities, information sessions and stakeholder meetings.
  • Respond to stakeholder enquiries, complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work closely with project teams to identify upcoming construction impacts and develop proactive communication strategies.
  • Monitor stakeholder risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise project disruption.
  • Support media enquiries and assist with the preparation of communication materials where required.
  • Maintain stakeholder databases and prepare regular reporting on engagement activities and project outcomes.
  • Ensure all communications activities align with client requirements, project objectives and regulatory obligations.
About You:
  • Previous experience in Communications, Stakeholder Engagement, Community Relations or Public Relations within construction, infrastructure, engineering, utilities or government.
  • Experience supporting major infrastructure, transport, rail, road, utilities or civil construction projects is highly regarded.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused and solutions-driven approach.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience preparing communication plans, consultation materials and stakeholder reports.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and stakeholder management systems.
