About the Opportunity:
  
Unify Recruitment are currently partnering with an exciting tier 1 organisation, to assist in recruiting for a Commissioning and Completions Engineer for a major Water Program overseeing the delivery of a long-term water infrastructure program in Western Sydney. This role is ideal for an engineer seeking significant exposure across multiple project tranches, hands-on commissioning experience, and the chance to work on essential water and wastewater assets supporting future regional growth.
  
You will manage and supervise onsite commissioning activities, coordinate with delivery partners, and help ensure all systems are brought online safely, efficiently, and in accordance with technical specifications. The position offers long-term career development, consistent project pipeline, and broad technical and project management experience across a large-scale, multi-year program.
  
About the Project:
  
The program of work is a Joint Venture is delivering a major water and wastewater network expansion that includes new wastewater pumping stations, gravity carriers, and supporting infrastructure. The program is driven by regional growth and the need for resilient, sustainable water solutions for Western Sydney.
  
The project prioritises safety, digital engineering, high-quality commissioning processes, and compliance with the latest industry and client standards.
  
About the Role:
  • Oversee and supervise on-site commissioning activities across multiple stages of the program.
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineering teams, and stakeholders to ensure systems are tested, compliant, and operationally ready.
  • Review, update, and maintain commissioning documentation including Commissioning Plans, ITPs, ITRs, O&M manuals, and handover packages.
  • Oversee equipment testing (FAT/SAT) and ensure all activities align with technical specifications and project requirements.
  • Participate in safety, risk, and design workshops including HAZOP, CHAZOP, and related reviews.
  • Support operational readiness activities including training coordination, spare parts planning, and maintenance scheduling.
  • Monitor commissioning progress, compare planned versus actual durations, and assist in resolving technical or delivery issues.
  • Ensure commissioning activities uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
About You:
  • Degree qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience in commissioning, completions, or operational readiness within major infrastructure or water projects.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work across contractors, engineering teams, and delivery partners.
  • Safety-focused with the capability to actively participate in risk and safety workshops.
  • Excellent documentation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Current C-Class Driver’s Licence.
